I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the door to a 1998 Ford Contour would fit a 1997 Ford Contour. I have a huge dent in my rear passenger side door and found a door in a junkyard on a 1998 that is the exact same color as my car. The guy at the place said he didnt know if it would fit. I was hoping youd be able to tell me if itd fit or if the dimensions are too big. Would any of you happen to know whether or not Id be able to use the interior part of the door I have now with on the 98 if it fits?
I have power everything and was hoping someone would be able to help me out some. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure everything is a direct swap. Except maybe the ding guards, but you might not want those anyway.

I was thinking of removing the ding guards anyway (thats that stupid piece of trim on the door right? lol) but was wondering if they have holes to attach them or if its just held on with tacky crap. Id rather not have holes in the door and wanna use as little bondo as possible. The reason Im looking for a door the same color is so I wont really have to get it painted because thats a [censored] in itself and I dont have time to do it on my own and cant afford to lose my car for more than a day. I travel a lot for business.

Looks like I know what Ill be doing tonight when I get home and pick the door up and put it on.
Anyone know if the interior switches for automatic windows are different from the 97 to the 98? Im probably gonna grab the other corner panel from the left side of the window to keep it even and get rid of the dotted ones that are on the 97s...

Im getting the door with the hinges. All I have to do to remove my door is just unbolt it right? They dont have it spot welded or anything like that for support or anything?
It seems pretty simple to take out the 2 bolts on each hinge and the one bolt on the black bar (not sure what its called) and pull it off. Just wanna make sure thats all there is to it.
Im gonna be doing this within the next hour or 2 and just wanna check before I do it to make sure there isnt anything I should know beforehand that I dont already know.
