Please forgive my complete ignorance here, but what exactly is an open track event? Also, where is "the same location as last year"? And lastly, is there any new info on this yet? Thanks.

The location is Kalamazoo Michigan, about 4 hours south of you in Traverse City. Open track event is just that...GingerMan raceway in South Haven will be open to anyone who wants to run laps. This as opposed to a closed track event where usually one group rents the track for just themselves. It's nice to have the track to yourself but you'll usually pay at least $100 to get some laps. With the open track we're attending costs will only be $50, and while I'm sure there will be other cars on track with us it's usually a small number, and heck if a bunch of Contours & SHO's are there we may just intimidate the others away smile

Back on the cost topic.

I've convinced the g/f that it's a good idea to go there. It's a good 15 hour drive for us. I'm all over the idea but I need to figure out how much the whole adventure is gonna cost me. Here's what I need:

SZ2002 Registration Fees: ??$$
Open Track event: 50$
Hotel Room: ??$$ / per night

Adding meals for two, booze for two, gas for the ride... Am I missing anything?

Am I gonna be the first Canadian from Quebec to ever attend SZ?? Yippee! Looking forward to meeting with you guys!
