Did a complete fluid flush (replacement) on my '95 Contour (well, I missed bleeding the clutch because I couldn't find the bleeder valve).
Used DOT 4 fluid.
Followed the proper front-catty-corner rear sequence.
But now it feels like the ABS is pulsing the brakes all the time I try the brake pedal, no matter how "normalally" of softly I apply the brakes.
I am pretty sure it is not warped rotors. I did nothing to the calipers.
Is there something in the bleeding sequence that would cause this?

Left Frt,Right rear, right frt & left rear? I don't have ABS, but the Ford CD had that, however the ABS pump/unit is done with Fords Star tester/laptop tool. It says follow the menu on the tester. Some much for the Ford propietary manual being helpful. Might post this in the brake forum, brake guru might be about

You describe shudder in the post title.
If the ABS is cycling, it will sound like servos going off--kind of an unpleasant grinding, buzzing sound.
If it's just a little "judder" under hard braking, it could be as simple as the front caliper guide pin bushings getting old, or the pins themselves needing cleaned and lubed, or replaced.
I was getting a bit of this before I serviced my front brakes. I'm 99% sure I didn't have "warped" rotors, either. The caliper guide pins were dry as a bone, and crusted over with gunk. I'm pretty sure that clean pins, new rubber, and grease, solved the problem, but I can't say it with scientific certainty because I replaced pads and rotors at the same time.
I'm also running DOT 4, ATE Super Blue.

Try pulling the ABS fuse and see if it still occurs.

You can't pull the fuse on an ABS System and expect to have normal brakes. Our ABS System doesn't work like that. Our ABS incorporates an Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, that if it is not powered, will lock up all the wheels when you step on the brakes.

Roger,
Don't understand what you mean here about the sound of servos going off. What is that?
Do you also mean the AS system, when active, makes noise?
It feels more like a rapid judder, but not just under hard braking -- all braking.
I will definitely check and lube the guide pins. (most likely I'll find something amiss in the process)
Thanks
