When I'm idling and I turn my wheel the rpm's jump...not much...probably 250.

If I'm sitting there with the wheel straight, I turn, rpm's jump, when I stop it goes back down.

It makes sense to me why they would jump, the power steering pump is putting a greater load on the system, but on the other cars in my family the rpms stay.

So, I'm wondering, could this mean my power steering pump is going or is this perfectly normal?

Update:

I was just talkin to a CEG bud (kevdogg) and it may be a different problem.

My car idles at like maybe a hair above 500rpm, I guess it should be idling closer to 750, when it revs, it revs to about 750, which is where it should be. It also has a whistling sound when I rev it higher myself, so we're thinking it has some vaccuum leak.

But any help is still appreciated if u wanna chime in.
