I'm getting my clutch replaced pretty soon and need a suggestion. I was reading about putting a svt clutch in my car, and wanted to know one thing. Would it be possible to put a svt clutch in a keep my stock flywheel. Or would it be better to get the whole assembly with the flywheel?
When you replace the clutch do you have to replace everything about it? Discs etc...?

When doing your clutch you might aswell do everything you can because it's a PITA to take the trans out, especially for something little like a slave cylinder. LUK clutches (E0 SVT factory clutch) come with the pressure plate, clutch disc, alignment tool, and slave cylinder. The only other thing you NEED to do is atleast get your flywheel resurfaced. If you can afford the extra $350+ get a lite weight flywheel from SHO Shop or Fidanza.....

There's so much debating on which clutch is better for the contour. I was wondering if any of them is kinda over kill for a person who just drives around and on occasion takes that little race. There no major price signifance between the aftermarket and SVT, so i'm pretty much better of getting the aftermarket one. I'm just stuck chosing between the CF or SPEC. I know that the SPEC is way cheaper but I cant seem to find anyone in the city who can get that or has even heard of it. I can easily get the CF locally for about 650CDN. Good price?
And has anyone dealt with shipping etc. with SP? Or anyone else who carries that clutch?

Instead of a CF or SPEC go for a SVT one? Is the 270 a fully assembly?

I have the CF DF and $650 CDN seems a pretty good price.
Compare that price with a Ford dealer's price for the stock one.....you will probably go with the CF....

how do you like your CF DF clutch? Do you have an upgraded flywheel as well?

best price I've seen on a CF is from Nopi at around $420, bear in mind Centerforce does not include a release bearing. To answer your other question, save on labor by getting a flywheel.. Fidanza makes a real nice one at just a hair over 9lbs for the MTX-75.
