Well folks, the car is fixed and now tuned with a simple water to air intercooler. No Iced up cooler in the trunk YET, but I designed a simple system with about a 1.5L resevoir that fits under the hood and circulates water. The intercooler turned out well thanks to Keith at SF and some good brainstorming on both our parts. He's an intelligent guy and if I wasn't paying him
I couldn't be any happier.
On to the news. At 90 deg ambient temp, the car put down 300 fwHP last night. The MAF was still givning trouble so tuning wasn't practical. Fixed the MAF today and the car runs and idles great.
After about 15-20 consistent dyno runs the car runs 297-300 wHP with 260+ TQ on 91 octane fuel and 100 degree shop temps. The boost normaly runs on the default spring pressure of 6.5psi, but for some reason in the heat today it was opening with a little less pressure, around 5psi or so.
Needless to say I am very pleased now. With the 93 octane available in Texas and a few more pounds of boost, say 10psi and it will have a serious bump in power. I'm thinking 325 at the wheels should be easy, with 350 being reasonable.
Thanks for all the support, I can sleep well tonight!
