I heard that Ford's prices on the DMD are lower now.
Any idea how much?
I'd like to get one pretty soon.

Last time I knew they were under $50. I went to the Mazda dealership and priced one from a Mazda 6 for $41 plus I'd imagine another $5 or so for the bolt and washer. Also add the $7 for beer.

So the Mazda 6's DMD will work?
I'll call Ford and ask for a price today. DMD for a '99 Contour, right?
... and who's up for helping with the install? How long will it take? I looks at the instructions and it sounds like I'm short a few tools.

Make sure to get the part number and use that... saying DMD to them will surely get you blank stares or dead silence on the phone.

How does $65 sound??? Still high?

I went and looked under the hood of a Mazda 6s and checked to see if it was a DMD, which it is. I also remember a post on the board a while ago saying that the Mazda 6s' DMD even had a Ford stamp on it with the identical part number as the regular crank dampner. So I went to the parts counter and asked them how much one would be and he quoted me 41 or 42 I believe. They looked at me really funny wondering why I would need a crank dampner for the 6 already.
