I have a 98 tour wit 71,000 miles on it. i was reading in another post that if your exhaust smells like rotten eggs, your cats going bad and in another post, i read that its covered under an 80,000 mile warranty. i am the second owner of the car, could i go to the stealership and get my cat replaced under warranty?

Cats smelling like eggs doesn't get you automatic cat replacement. A Check Engine Light for your cats would do fine, if you have one.

There are other things that can give you a sulpher smell. Usually a rich mixture combined with fuel with a high sulpher content is the most common cause. Try some different fuel.
