as far as I know there aren't any advantages, it's just the speedometer gear. If you get a quaife, a speedo gear is necessary for proper fitament, due to the quaife having been designed for the Zetec MTX-75.

Oh really? I never heard that... So it's safe to assume that the speedometer won't be off then correct?

mine isn't off and I have that zetec speedo. I do a little more explaining. The stock speedo gear and the zetec speedo gear are the same size. They are both just little circles (made of plastic no less) that fit on your pinion right next to the quaife. The quaife has two little half circle cutouts along the flat edge where the speedo gear sits against it. The zetec speedo gear has the half circle extension/tabs to fit in the little cutouts on the quaife, this keeps the speedo gear from slipping by keeping it locked into those little half circle cutouts. The stock speedo gear doesn't have the cutouts giving a much higher chance of slippage. Which can cause more problems over time. Internal tranny problems are generally not good things. Other than that, there are no real differences and no adverse effects. I have a quaife and the zetec speedo and it works great.
