Guys, I am very interested in getting a turbo for my baby, it has the 2.5 and i want this turbo so bad that if i see another pic of one i'm gonna need some clean boxers handy! I've been waitin for a while to see how the results are with those that have purchased the Turbo for their CSVT so far. I wanted to see what their personal opinions are on them. BUT, what are the downfalls of it? I hear the praise on it but i'm sure there are some drawbacks, i've seen a couple, but, i just wanna know what i'm gettin into before i drop $5k. Those of you with the kit, was the 5k really worth it? You'd know best, I just want to make sure that every d@mn penny for this turbo is some good quality Shtuff that is gonna stand out on the street (performance wise not just looks) I really want to get the turbo on my 2.5 and all the neccesities for it but, is it gonna end up like those who have the vortech and say how they are blowin seals and stuff and lookin to get rid of it after a year? The 292hp is really sweet to the ears but I really love the car, and i don't wanna spend 5k on something for it that's gonna put her in the ICU (intensive care unit). i'm lookin for stuff like: *What do i need to expect that's gonna break or blow or get messed up and stuff *How long is this turbo claimed to last *What parts need to be upgraded *will my tranny die after the first run, what does it need *Am i gonna run in a corner and cry when a import just with a 100shot nos kit beats me on the street SUMMARY!!! Those of you with the Turbo, what is your 2 cents on the kit, good and bad, what do you love about it and what could you go without? What parts all together needed to be upgraded?

I thought you were going to sell your 'tour but I guess you changed your mind. A turbo would be awesome as hell. I really don't know too much about turbos but pm warmonger. I think he has a turbo or a supercharger in his tour.

you will wanna get a quaife lsd for your tranny, as the stick diff is the weak link. the whole kit is of the highest quality, and is worth every damn penny (or so ive read)
and yes, you will cry if a honda beats you with a 100 shot of NOS

I don't have it, but I'm closely associated w/ Street Flight and "the mule" (Keyser). I'd say Russell has it right as far as preventative items go - the diff and clutch should be beefed up.

Hey man, the turbo is really sweet! I didn't pay 5K because I did a lot of customizing on mine, but what you get for 5k is worth it. I think that includes all the tuning and everything so that you pay the money, get it installed by them and drive away with an awesome street machine.
You should pm Keyser because he can give you the exact info as to what you are getting.

Oh, and the only drawbacks are the stock clutch and differential. Everything else about the turbo is the sh|T!

Yeah, the car is for sale but, i think i might hold on to it now, I was waiting to see what the deal was with the turbo, if it got bad reviews then i was gonna get rid of the car, but if it got good reviews then i was gonna keep it, so, guess i'm gettin a turbo now. But i still haven't heard how long this thing is said to last, what's the scoop on that info? Oh yeah, what size wheels are you guys running with the turbo, cause i currently have 18's (215/35/18) should i drop to 17" wheels with 215/40/17? isn't there a difference in some type of ratio in the drivetrain when you dabble with the 17 and 18 inch wheels or is that just some BS?

From a roll I can easily believe it. (seen a S/C SVT walk LS1's) From a stop probably not since it's so damn hard to launch this car.

Are you Frickin serious?!?!? was this on the street or at the track? You guys don't understand how anxious i'm getting now, my hands are startin to shake ncoahcaeincen;aienwencoi lol, i gotta get one!!! Well, i just posted a new post about louvers on the fender M3 style and if it'd be a good way to go with the turbo, there's pics of one on the Aesthetics page, it looks ok, but, with real M3 style, i think it'd be pretty bad ass looking, and especially for the turbo, since it's functional not just for looks.

Well for the turbo consider this. Conservatively - 275FWHP & 265FWTQ in a 3000lb car with a very low CD (.31 IIRC) & and close ratio 5-speed. Most Mustangs are toast. (brick aerodynamics and even built ones are rare over 300WHP) Stock to modded LS1's (250-350WHP but 3600 lbs!) So yes you will beat "most" things "from a roll" (yes the big dogs will still win - let's get real here) However consider the significant difference - COST!, 4-doors, & thus having 3 of your buddies pointing and laughing at the bewildered driver next to you. Maxing out the limits of the stock gearing (~166mph at 7000rpm) will be no problem at all! You'll be getting there fast too!

I LOVE my turbo. It transformed the car into something unreal. Before I had it I still loved the SVT, but it never instilled full confidence in me like say I wanted to pass someone, I would always think "Hmm, is there enough room between me and oncoming traffic to get past this sucker?". Now, I rarely have to even downshift and I just roll into the gas in before you know it you're in tripple digit speeds. I even had some assclown try and tailgate me on the the way back from the airport yesterday in an Impala SS. I just left it in 5th and rolled into the gas and left him like he was standing still. The look on peoples eyes when launch harder than the Space Shuttle Columbia off the line, is priceless. Of course racing from a stop is almost pointless to due the inability to put all the power to the ground, but nailing it in 2nd while on a roll just sets you back in your seat and hurtles you forward like a cannonball! I can imagine the fun a turbo would give. I consider myself to have a good top end and my car will go from 4k to 7k rpms in literally a blink of an eye in first with traction. I've hit the rev limiter a few times because of this. I can't imagine having the top end power that I have from 3k rpms on. Sometimes I get on it on freeway onramps (who am I kidding, all the time). I'll go around the corner and leave it in second. Then I'll slowly accelerate untill 4k and nail it. Next thing you know your doing 75mph and your not even half way through the onramp. Oh yeah, putting it in third doing 60mph and flooring it will put you in your seat. If you can spare the cash for the turbo, get it now. Unfortunately, I can't so I went the cheap route. Sorry for the long rant, but I would like to see more turbo contours for me to drool over.

Just to make sure, the main thing that i need to do is: *Quaife and Upgraded clutch right??? *ok, now what cluctch should i use?? *and how about that Fidanza flywheel?? would it be overkill or no?? is there anything else to upgrade? what kind of plugs and wires are you guys runnin with the turbo? and also what type of coolant? I just want to get this stuff done now so that when i get the turbo put in, it will be all ready. so if there is something else i forgot please let me know, thanks. Warmonger, you've been a big help too man, thanks!!!
