Does anyone know a good throttle body cleaner to use to clean the throttle body? Thanks in advance.

I used STP.

Never used any, just got it optimized.

Gumout professional is what was used on mine and my god what a improvment it did for me

I used some no name throttle body cleaner and it did ok...Is there a special way of doing it that i don't know about? I usually just get lots of Q tips and a rag and then use the throttle body cleaner and soak it down good...Is this an ok method

I dont know I had mine professionaly done and all this white smoke came out my exhuast pipe while they was doing it.. i asked if it was supposed to be doing that and they jus said the more white smoke that came out the cleaner my throttle body would be. Either way i didnt have to press the gas like I normaly did to leave without it wanting to launch

I cleaned mine this weekend with Berryman's that was recently discussed in this thread in General Mods.

A lot of smoking and ran rough.

IF you do get the cleaning kit pictured, be sure to drive the car for awhile afterwards.

I also used Berryman's B12 to clean the TB which was pretty nasty.

Can't really tell if the car runs "smoother", but my accelerator doesn't stick anymore!

Are you supposed to run the car during the cleaning? Thats what it sounded like when you said the white smoke was coming out. I don't see how you could do that because all the sensors would be not reading the incoming air,,,isn't that called un-metered air. just curious

In addition to Berryman's B-12 Carb Cleaner to clean the TB, I got the Berryman's B-12 Total Combustion System Clean-up pictured in the link in my previous post. Check out Berryman's website for more info on their products.

The Total Combustion Cleaner is used by unhooking the brake booster line from the manifold. The system comes with tubing that runs from the can and plugs into the hole left from removing the brake booster cable. Start the car and the chemical is sucked through the tubing into the car. run for 8-10 minutes.

After the car cooled (car off obviously), I took off the TB and used the carb cleaner to clean the spray/clean the TB.

When I started it back up, the exhaust was white and smelled like detergent for quite awhile.
