uh yea today while driving my car it began to overheat, my dad came helped me put some water on it n stuff, let it chill for 2 hours....then it overheated again. i know this is verrrrrrrrry vague but if neone has any suggestions on why its doing that it would help a lot. if you need nemore info pm me or talk to me on AIM proliphik928

WATERPUMP!!! That is my guess. These cars seem to be notorious for it. Do you have the Duratec V-6?

Stop driving it until you get it fixed or you might mess the engine up pretty bad.

yea i stopped drivin, yea im pretty sure i have the duratec, darn my dad thought it was the waterpump also...he said its quite a bit to fix

BAT has one with a metal impellar (not plastic like stock) for about $67.

If you can't wait for that though I think they are around $50-70 at a local parts store.

I have not needed to change mine yet.

its pretty easy to do. buy a chiltons manual at AutoZone or Shucks or even NAPA

Yeah I agree with MotorCity. Don't drive it anymore. Since these newer cars have aluminum heads, you can easily warp them if you running it hot. If it's not heat and it's overheat, the waterpump is most likely your problem. You should also change the thermostat while you're at it and check your hoses waterpump belt, and your heater hoses. The waterpump is a very easy job, once you take off the plastic cover.
