I was driving behind the same car from campus until we reached the Walterdale Bridge on 105 St where i rear ended him. Both of us were doing the speed limit and i had 2-3 car length between us, but for those of you that never been on the Bridge it has a slippery metal deck.
As the driver infront of me reached the end of the bridge, 2 joggers were waiting for traffic to clear to cross the road. There is no crosswalk at the end of the bridge the closest crosswalk is about 50m down the street, so i didn't anticipate the driver's reaction infront of me to stop and let them cross. I tried to stop but I had no traction on the metal deck and the slushy snow under my tires, and BOOM!
He was able to stop because he was off the deck and back on the asphalt, but i guess i wasn't so lucky
Now I have to chip out $2000 to fix his cracked rear bumper and bent left rear fender.

There is hardly any damage to my car, just scratches and cracked paint on my front bumper. I guess i'm going to really need the hellahydro kit now, thats both the front and rear bumpers now. My dad backed into my car about a year ago and cracked the paint on the rear bumper.

I wish I can laugh about this; but I was able to negotiate with the body shop and bring the price down to $1600. I asked to talk to the shop manager and I told him that their estimate is for insurance companies and I want to cut a deal. He smiled and 2 mins later he knocked $400 off. I bet if I tried harder I could've still brought him down another $100. The estimate on my car is $200 to fix and paint, if i take the bumper off and put it back myself.
Oh well that another $1600 that went on my credit card, and out of the mod fund. Yes i do have a MOD FUND.
