Does the car run & drive fine?

That code could point to the cam gears not being lined up properly (cams timed incorrectly)

Timing belt installation was perhaps not done properly, return to shop to have them examine and correct problem.

My car seems to be running normal. I just can't seem to figure out why I am receiving that code. I dropped my car off where I got it fixed this morning. I hope the mechanic can figure out that the cam gears are not lined up properly if that is problem. Also where are cam gears located? (my guess is they are located between the timing belt) And how can you tell if they are lined up properly?

P1381 Cam Timing Advance is excessive.

They put the belt on just a little bit wrong when it was replaced. One tooth off on the cam pulley is only about 3 degrees so the engine will run OK, but not as well as it should. Gas mileage, performance and emmisions are probably off a little.

Are you seriously down on power under 3k?? I know I am w/ code 1380 (VCT overretarded). It's a pain to get the timing just right. W/out that damn bolt that holds the crank so piston 1 is at TDC I'd say it's near impossible. Can't wait to get that thing and be done w/ this issue.

If it's very close, 1 tooth will throw you off tremendously. That's what I did at first and it was ridiculous. Ended up loosening the cam gears so I could adjust the cams independently.

How many Vs would a VTEC TEC if a VTEC could TEC Vs? The one, the only....FRNKNFORD http://www.westvalleycs.com

My power seems to be fine. I don't know what is causing code 1381, I guess something is off. The car is running fine. Now that I think about it when the car is in park it seems to idle just a little slightly rough (just little) not much.
