Ok, I need help my contour has the most annoying problem! If im driving for about 45 Minuits to an hour... city driving or highway... and my Temp gauge gets pretty close to red... It starts to beep! for about 20 seconds BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP Its soo freaking annoying! and I have no clue why it does it. its the same beeping that occurs when you turn on the vehicle the "Put on seatbelt" beep... but it just suddenly occurs after a long drive! Anyone have a clue why it does this?

If your temp gauge is getting close to the red you should stop driving and have your car looked at immediately. Either you're low on coolant, blew a head gasket, have a toasted water pump or have too many deposits inside the radiator blocking proper coolant flow. In any case, it's a bad sign. Don't let your car overheat! It can and will warp the head, or crack it, or crack the block. In any case, it's unpleasant and will be expensive. Get the car looked at.

I just wonder, is that why it is beeping? Not because of time, but because the temperature was getting close to overheating? Does that mean if my waterpump goes, it will beep before the engine gets into the red? Just curious as I would hope there would be some sort of waring before I blow up my engine lol. I am trying to wait until 45,000 miles before I have my waterpump replaced when I get my cooling system service done. Has anybody else ever had that beeping sound followed by some other warning light? Thanks for any input.

The beeping is not a normal cause of overheating. In normal highway traffic, if your car starts getting very warm, you need to stop driving it immediately.

No warning lighs, no check engine lights... just beeps for about a minuit... and then stops, and after about another 45 minuits to 1 hour of driving does it again! The car is not overheating guys! its the same beep! when you turn on your car! the SEATBELT WARNING BEEP! its that same beep... maybes it beeps because of seatbelts? this car has been into an accident before we bought it on the front right end.. so who knows what that screwed up..

Even IF the accident screwed up the seatbelt sensor, here's the thing..
I can take my SVT, or my old 95LX, or my Bro's 98SE, and WHILE DRIVING, unbuckle.. no sounds.. no beeps.. nothing..
I doubt it is caused by the seatbelt.. I would check (if you dare) the wiring near the doorjambs..
My driver's side door-ding sound would go off in a delayed fashion (I open the door, and SILENCE.. THEN like 20 seconds later. .it would start, or sometimes never start..) Ended up being a loose connection in the door switch.. Maybe an open connection in yours could cause it to "think" the door is open, after a highway bump, or foot kick?
Just trying...
