i recently mystery modded my car and am tryin to use the diagram for the home-made MILs, and im not quite sure as to wether the capacitor needs to be soldered in one specefic direction, or does it matter? i used all the part #'s directly off the list, im just no good with electronics.

and just to be sure it looks like the resistor is just soldered between the two wires, so to speak.

any advice would be GREATLY appreciated

Those capacitors you bought should not be polar, so it shouldn't matter which direction they are soldered in - IIRC

Tantalum capacitors will fry if even a low voltage is applied backward. Polarity is designated with a plus sign.
If this is the circuit, I still have not heard if it works.

That diagram should work I tried the parts from RadioShack and they all worked, no MIL since.
It cost me all of about $10.

Make sure you wrap the wires with electrical tape, it helps keep the water out.

If you just leave them plugged in and zip tied up it's likely a code will not be thrown. I drove for months like that with no issue.

I have tantalum caps, but havent' soldered them in yet... which way do they go, I'd like to not fry them?
