Hey, I wanted to have another small get together at the end of Febuary. I was think about dropping some flyers off on some contours. I know of a lot of contours in the area, and I know some of them are enthusiats like us! LOL, the guy at the end of my street has 4 cars/trucks, a 96 GL, a a saturn, and nice ass dodge truck, and a old truck, all but the contour are pimped out. I think he would like to join probably. I would talk to him, but he wants to kick my ass. Cause I speed down our street. Our street is like 6 cars wide. Whatever, i dont think 30 is speeding in a 30!!! a-hole. Well, I wanted to get together and drive somewhere. This time like Long Beach, WA. Its very pretty out there. Or we could meet somewhere else, like at the mouth of the columbia River. Very pretty there. This time, I will be there. I am planning my whole weekend off at the end of febuary. I was thinking last week of febuary (well last weekend of febuary) Saturday the 22nd, and Sunday the 23, or March 1st and 2nd. What do you guys think. This time, I want all of the portland guys to meet too, so we can have more people. Is anyone up for it? I am willing to meet within about 250 miles of my house. I don't want to spend all my dough on gas. For some reason my car eats it bad, about 180 miles a tank. So guys tell me what you think. Also if anyone who came to Auburn on saturday if you want to make guages for your car, I will teach you how to, for very cheap. Expensive way is like 40-50, and the cheap way is like $5.00. I will also be showing the guys in portland in febuary early march, whenever we deciede to have the meeting.

I'm always up for a meeting! I'll stay tuned. Hopefully my job will allow it. What's up with 180 miles to the tank? Sounds like you need a tune-up or something. It's that or keep your foot out of the floorboard! I've got access to a shop so let me know if you need any work done. We can arrange something. The same invitation goes for any of you local CEGers. Can you say Quaife install?

OK, Mike, now you've done it. What would a Quaife install cost? And aren't the parts a lot also? And hey, I'm still waiting on my wires to show so you can get my wires and plugs in (Is this where I hint about optimizing my TB too?)

Meanwhile, sorry Drajen, I'm already busy Feb 28-Mar 1, but WOULD like to catch other local meets in the future. I'm glad the Mt. Rainer pix were posted for us that couldn't come up.

The Quaife is fairly cheap itself (approx $5-600), but then you have to have it machined I believe which costs quite a bit and then the install would probably take quite a bit of time. I think you're looking at 12-1500 to have someone do it. I'd say I'd help, but I think the MTX-75 may be beyond my abilities.

If you decide to optimize your TB, let me know! I'd love to see one that has been done.

Anyone up for a DMD install? Should take less than an hour with the experts around here, no?

I would buy beers for anyone (assuming actual hands-on helpers is less than 3) who helped me do the swap. I own a condo and they won't allow working on cars in the underground garage.

Got this DMD sitting next to me looking all lonely.

Kerry

I can't do the Quaife install locally. That's a job best handled by Terry Haines. I can however remove and install the trans. I still have a wood crate for shipping an MTX-75, to Terry in Michigan of course. As far as a quote on the install, you'd have to talk to Terry about that. His email is secondline@ameritech.net if you're interested. My Quaife install was more costly because I shipped him a broken trans. I also updated to the 2002 shift tower. Anytime you remove the trans you should also think about a new clutch and release bearing assembly. I bought the Centerforce Dual Friction and love it.

Mike,
What are we talking about for cost?

... and how come you didn't tell me about all that at the meet so that I could beg you to drive your car?

Sorry to hijack the thread like that. Tenatively I can show up on the 22nd to just about anywhere in the northwest, but it all will depend on my job. I can't plan that far out because they don't plan that far out...yet. I'll be checking here regularly to adjust plans as required.

Well, I don't know when I'll be able to do anything until after March 9th. Then I'll be gone the last week of March. So until then I have no clue what is going on for me.
