I was just wondering if i must use premium gas when running nitrous...I know i need new plugs, like NGK copper plugs or something colder than what i already have. I was just wondering because i heard from a buddy today that i should. I thought the zetec didn't take well with high octane fuel? I have a kit coming and i just need some advise from all my peeps on the board

doesn't help N/A, but can stop detonation if your timing can't handle the nitrous on 87 octane. talk to sleeper.

You will need to run plugs at least 2 steps colder. Higher octane will help when on the nitrous. But get you timing right or........BOOM!

If you are adding an extra oxygen source, you'd best increase the octane.

NGKTR6 plugs!!!!!!
I tried TR55 plugs for 4 bottles, then TR6 plugs for 5 bottles.
The TR6 plugs were almost as clean as when they went in.
The TR55's got black fast.

I have heard iridium plugs would also be a good compromise for the Contour since our ignition systems are designed for platinum plugs.
I can feel the idle difference between the copper NGK's and the double platinum Autolites.
Iridium has many of the same properties as platinum (so will still have the nice idle) but has the higher melting point required for nitrous (so copper plugs wouldn't need to be swapped in).

Definately use 92+ ocatne gas when on nitrous.

And make sure your timing is tweeked right.

I added a 1/2 degree of timing retard to what Zex recommended.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again, get a custom burned chip. Well worth the money!

What year is you car? The reason I am asking is because when I was looking into nitrous I could only run a wet kit.
