Just getting him ready for you Swazo

Just finally talked to the rep, and our CF engine covers are supposed to be in our hands the week after Xmas (the 29th) and the prototype hood should arrive about two weeks after that

We were really hoping to have a XMas delivery for you guys, but now it looks like you'll get to spend some quality time with them right around Valentine's day

Bow chicka bow bow

So what's up with the prototype? Even if it needs minor mods...it'll have to be shipped back? But even if that's the case how much longer would we get our hoods then?

If the prototype fits correctly, it will not have to be shipped back, and they will begin production of the hood right away

Is that a banana in your post, or are you just happy to see me?

Glad we could finally deliver some actual news for once

I dont wish to bring this up after all the money has been collected...but I will tell you my experience with Aerogear.

I purchased a hood from them in June for my old car (98 gti vr6). I took it home and tried to install it. It was the worst fitting piece of crap i had ever seen. It would even latch at the latch point. So, I called them and told them of my misfortune. They apologized and said I could come pick a new one up in about 3 weeks. I called 3 weeks later...and they informed me that they had not come in yet. They said another 3 weeks. So another 3 weeks...same thing. Another 3 weeks...same thing. It has now been almost 5 months.....and they still keep telling me the same thing. I still have this piece of crap hood sitting in my garage...and am getting the run around with them.
I pray that you guys do not have the same problem as I had. But I will tell you, I am not the only person who has experieces similar to these. Check any other message board, and almost all of them have at least 1 person who had the same problem. I have given up and am not expecting a new hood.

I'm lost, is this the company we all ordered from Norcal? Because if it isn't, I don't understand the purpose of this last post from bonersvt. . .

And I hope that fitment won't be an issue, that's why I dropped out of the last CF GB, since there were people drilling and putting pins, etc. I figure since this will have been test fit TWICE (didn't we already get the hood and test fit it and send it back because of the wrong style scoop?), we should be ok. . .

Wayson USA, (The parent Company of Aerogear) is producing these hoods for us, so I can understand how you could have those concerns after that experience.

My own personal experience waiting for Aerogear products is that they DO take forever, but because we have worked with them on some other projects, we have gotten to know them a little better. Aerogear as a company prides itself on higher quality aftermarket parts, that they testfit extensively to ensure direct replacement, with minimal hassles. So I find it unusual that you had such a bad fitment issue, but sometimes defective products DO slip through the cracks, like with all companies, so I believe that you had that problem. Since you went to their location, I'll have to assume that you are in NorCal as well right? So If you want to woodysvt, you can PM me with your information, and I can talk to them for you next time I have them on the phone.

As far as OUR hood goes, it is in our contract that they have to have 100% correct fitment, so we will make sure that they fit before sending them back We are completely anal perfectionists, so you can be assured we'll check everything on the car fitment-wise

We will actually only have recieved the one prototype when we do get it in January, as they never sent the other one because we caught the mistake before they shipped it to us... if we hadn't, this GB might have taken another few months to complete
