if you had an intercooler, could you take the windshield washer sprayer hoses and run them in front/on top of the intercooler. put a switch in car to run the fluid until it runs out (time it and put timer on switch), and you could put ice in the washer reservior. is this a good idea for added cooling once the engine is warmed up and you're trying to get some better times on a hot day?

Nitrous express has a kit similar to that except that it sprays CO2 at the intercooler/heat exchanger to chill it. I have heard it is worth quite a bit of power but I have no first hand experience with it.

If you wanted to do the liquid it would work but the spray would need to be very fine and it would not be nearly as efficient as the CO2.

That's how the lancer EVO's come from the factory. They have a button in the car to spray a mist on the intercooler. The poor mans version people use the windshield washer pump and tank, etc etc etc Do it man it'd be cheap and easy.

The WRX crowd has this available to them as well. It cools the intake charge dramatically. I hear that it can be worth 20-30 HP additional on a stock application.

This trick has been used for ages! It is not special to any one particular car or manufacturer.

It is a great way to make an air to air intercooler more efficient.

cool, now, i just need to get an intercooler,, oh and something for it to cool.

or a supercharger, that's what i meant by "something for it to cool".

Better yet get a water to air intercooler, then you don't have to worry about fitting a huge intercooler inside the bumper cover. And you won't need to worry about overheating probs from lack of air flow to the radiator. But then again huge air to air intercoolers look sweet

if i ever do it, i'll have more air flow room due to hella's body kit.
