Has anyone put valve cover breathers on their duratec? If so what part#'s were used.

 It is left of the secondary controller on the front valve cover. I have one on the rear one as well, but you cannot see it. (note: it is not emissions freindly ) Also you cannot fit the engine/water pump cover on with one installed.

what does this do for you? Is this non-emmisions friendly like it will give you bad gas mileage or more like removal of a cat?

the ports in the valve cover simply supply a path for fresh air to enter the engine and flow through out its insides to scavenge out blow by gasses and oil vapors. Normall these ports are ducted to the intake pipe in order to ensure only filtered air enters the engine. These filters just eliminate this ducting and are a dedicated filter for the purpose. They don't do much for performance, they just make it look nicer.

The PCV system is normally closed so that all of the air is metered by the MAF, and it is required for the longevity of the oil.
I realize that retaining it in a blow through system can cause problems.
So, do you still have the PCV valve?

Roger is right -- you are just letting unmetered air into the system if the PCV is still installed.

Guy's, not looking for a PCV lesson... I know full well how it works, just looking for some part numbers form people who have done it.
