We had a focus GTG this last weekend and did some new ZETEC HP # that i am very proud of

435HP AND 388TQ at the wheels with nitrous

378HP and 322TQ at the wheels on engine

This is still an every day driver with A/C,PWR stearing,stock cams,full EXH

Just think to have a ZETEC to out run the turbo V6 yes it can be done and you can get this now ,No deposit needed for R & D

Too bad I have my SVT and love it!

Regardless of what opinions some have, I think what you're doing with the car is amazing. Could you get the same numbers from a zetec contour?

Come to think of it i've got a zetec sitting in my driveway doing nothing....


EDIT: I just watched the vid posted of the fun ford weekend and that car is a FREAKING BEAST ! I wouldn't want to pull next to you in...anythihng for fear of being embarassed. Excellent choice of music also (Primus rules!). Congrats on all the great work man, nice ride!

I read the SCC article..you did a great job of strenghtening the internals and your fine tuning work with (stock!) ECU(and 30 psi + nitrous) was impressive and really paid off. Congrats.

But, if you want to compare with V6s..this is the only one I know that built up engine to handle the boost like you did (appples to apples)..450 HP with IIRC only about 12-15 psi, minimal tuning, no nitrous...guy I talked too at Dutewiller Engineering felt 600 HP easy with just more boost & tuning but Ford wanted the motor back quick. It will be interesting to see what CEGers do with Hightower's turbo..

Dan yes the v6 can and should out do the Zetec

The turbo with NO nitrous did 378hp at the wheels at 25psi boost,My turbo is half the size (volume wise)of the KDFV6 project engine and 30 more inches take those inches with the same hp per cubic inches and that is 471hp at the wheels out of the zetec

Now take the boost and cut in half because the v6 turbo will flow about 2 times what mine will and you will come up with close to the same power at about the same boost,500hp was the goal and all ford was wanting anyway

Did kenny tell you that the heads on the KDFV6 were one of a kind castings, much like the raised port heads for the zetec that went on the Mcguires focus that no one else but kenny and ford had
