well, SVT2000 ran a 14.7 w/ a Borla catback and a K&N, so a nearly stock CSVT can break 15's . . .

Call us when your Contour runs the 1/4 in 12.5s. Until them, aim lower, like a V6 Camaro.

I stand behind my statement. This is the reason: When new, the quoted time for the SVT Contour in the 1/4 was 15.35 @91MPH IIRC. They use professional drivers and run @ Sea Level. I don't believe, for a second, that someone can get 15.0 or better in a stock SVT. Show me the slip! The SVT that ran 14.70 with a Borla, does not qualify as stock. I would be willing to bet there is more than exhaust (i.e. chip/tuning/a downward facing hill). That is one hell of a run for a close to stock SVT 4-door Grocery Getter, though! I would be proud of that one and I have a bit more than just exhaust.

Yeah but even the ITR's only get a trap of about 91-92. Its funny cause head to head my ITR friend only beats me from his front wheel up but at the track I turned a 15.7(tranny issues) and he turned a 15.1. Interesting...

How 'bout this Tour. I installed the V-8 kit, with H-pipe and true duals. Since I wanted better stability and handling, I went ahead and widened it out a few inches. I also installed taillights and a back panel from a '71 Mustang. While I was at it, I changed the rear glass so it was more upright, leading to the change you see in the rear (different trunk, removed spoiler). Since I'd rather have a 2-door, I made the front doors longer (after removing the B-pillar of course) and removed the rear doors. I like long hoods, so I stretched mine a bit and put in a couple scoops (not pictured). I also added a vynil top with chrome mouldings. This is one bad-ass Tour that will shake the neighbors house when idling....race ya

1. Correct. Not stock
2. Intake, exhaust for certain, and maybe chip or MAF???
3. 2.0x 60' done by launching around 5000 rpm and slipping the clutch (his nickname was diffkiller) It is on video and on the net and was done quite a while ago. Yes the track was at sea level. The run was 14.72 @ 91ish

Brad Noon ran a 14.78 in his SE (yep, not even an SVT) way back when by hitting a 2.0x 60' time as well. Not stock either, but not "overly" modified either. (for the record he ran in the low 15's at the track I run at )

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

I saw on the Corvette forums a while back where a stock 2001 Z06 with only a K & N drop in filter ran and 11.95 @118 or so. The guys name was PowerShifter and his times were back up by several members. He just got a 2002 Z06 and had gotten that to 11.98 I believe.....he was still getting used to the car!!!

Remember guys....these are stock with just a K & N

PS-I consider a K & N drop in filter as stock.

I have a quaife and I won't launch at 5k! I would prefer to be able to drive my car home each night. A 14.70ET with that list of mods is still impressive... Brad had a 3.0L though. That ain't apples to apples. Like I said before, my best run was at sea level and on a stock (K+N drop-in). I ran 15.20 and was happy as hell.
I will get my engine management put in place, then we shall see what I run.

Brad's 14 sec. run was prior to the install of the 3 liter.
