IIRC, I got it started from underneath the car, and then tightened it from the top, using a long, long extension.

finally got the iac in. took 3hrs all together. it better have been worth it. it is a biatch to try and get in there. i was about ready to give up.

what are u talking about exactly? is it the thing in the air filter hose that you're talking about??? i can't see that being called hard to get to. what is the iac?

IAC is back of the engine, behind and underneath the intake, hidden by vacuum lines, cables, etc. You may be thinking of the MAF or air temperature sensor.
