I think Meguires 3 Step Wax is good... That is what I use.. Or Zaino.

Porter Cable 7336 random orbital sander is a good and generally fool proof place to start. Progress from mildest compound stronger until to get out what you want. Then go back to the mildest to fill in all the smaller swirls.

Best wax? Depends. I recommend P21S (AKA S100) for dark cars, but you'll be applying it every month. Zaino looks the best to me on light cars.

do you do all three steps?
or just the thrid?

and I have Eagle one Polish and wax. I use as a base wax and then the Eagle one wax as you dry spray on each car wash.. pros.. cons? I haven't noticed anything bad.

Dude..do a search (I asked this question a while back) and follow all their suggestions. In a nut shell do:

dawn
paint cleaner
polish
wax
sealer

Meguiars will acomplish steps 2-5, but some lean towards Zaino. I have used Eagle one...easy on/off...but doing the above steps was like revelation to me.

That is why you get PC 7336. It's great for saving your arms, and takes about 30 minutes for polishing. Wax is generally easy to apply by hand, though.

Yeah, but they will feel better when you step back and see the shine on your car

I borrowed a friends orbital. $40 at Pep Gurlz. I'm so asking for one for Christmas. Get the waxing done so much faster and uniform. Arms don't wanna fall off anymore.

I did the meguire's 3-step wax once with a buffer and it took me about 10 hours! I must be doing something wrong. I use Nu-Finish, can't tell the difference. Eagle One Wax as you dry every wash too, it works good!

Yeah, you did something wrong if it took 10 hours with a machine to do three steps. Meg 3-step by hand should only take 2 hours including a dawn wash.

And keep that Nu Finush away from your car. Good for 15 year old cars, not newer clearcoated ones. Well, if you can't tell a difference between 10 hours of 3-step and Nu finish, keep using what you like. I personally wouldn't use it on my own 18 year old car, though.

The biggest mistake people make when apllying wax by hand is using presure. You are coating the surface not scrubbing. Let the product do the work for you.

I use a 4 step system, Meguiars #9, #7, #20, #26 and get done in less than 2 hours!
