I'm currently thinking about getting a Contour se 5 spd. but I was worried about how fast they are, cause I've seen posts of SVT's hitting 16's @83 in the heat. I read the FAQ that said SE's run 15.9 @ 88, but I need to know if they really do that well. I have a GrandPrix GT & it runs 15.8 @ 87 when it was hot, so in cooler weather I'ld say mid 15's @89ish. I don't want anything slower than what I have. So what did ya'll SE ppl get stock? & trap speed as well.

stock 5spd se's run about mid to high 15s. although, modded thats a different story. ive seen modded cougars on here, which have the same V6 engine as us and slightly heavier, running high 14s.

Actually MTX Cougars are the same or a bit lighter. They tip the scales under 3000lbs.

hmm, i was almost sure car and drivers results had the cougar weighing in at a little bit more.

I thought they were lighter too, they are a bit smaller. So how much would it take to get an SE running low 15's, even a non-factory freak?

i have a 95 se and all i had done was an intake and exhaust and i ran 15.9 on a very hot and humid day. i think the low 15's high 14's is very possible with an se. the question is how much do you want to spend?

I ran 16 flat in mine with a full tank of gas and my first time to the track. It's a 95 for the record with a intake and a SVT resonator less exhaust.

Talk to Brad about his freak. He hit 14's with Silvie before the 3L. Quite impressive driving played a large part (2.0x 60' )
