okay this is just an idea but, does anyone know what the best ebgine is for a zetec? I got the burton power mag and I noticed that the cosworth engine looked like a good idea , but does it fit? what all would I have to do? and is it even worth it, or should I just get mine re-built?

Good question. I don't have the answer on whether it would fit or not, but I'm sure it would (but you'd probably need some pretty $$$ accessories). You should contact Burton and see.

Or, you could simply do a tear-down and rebuild. Maybe overbore it (if possible), have some balancing done, throw in some nice, hi-po parts, etc. Then, contact Demon Dynamics and t/c it. Don't forget you're going to need some serious transaxle work to handle anything major. That's even more $$$.

You're thinking along the same lines as myself, but unfortunately I have to wait until I get a 3rd car so mine can be parked for a few months.

i tought about that when i drove one last week when i was car shooping. but i was disapointed with the over all car.
i guess im used to my rattles and squeaks, but if poss, to swap i would be one happy customer...

do you have any idea for a fully cosworth preped Zetec crated up and shipped to the US costs???? more that you would of payed for your tour.there is a guy that lives by my parents that has a cosworth 1.9L for the old Escort and I talked to him about it one day and he payed are you ready...... $10,000 for the motor, shipping and import tax. is it worth it???? yes and no..... he runs 9's in the quarter but it's still an early 90's escort.

You would spend less money just modding the engine under the hood of your Tour.

thanks for all the ideas, it sounds like the best idea is to do a rebuild. so I guess I will try that and see how it goes.

can anyone get me a link to the demon dynamics, burton power or cosworth website. i might be getting a shitload of money and nothing to blow it on so i figure that this might be something to try.


Mods to come: Cold Air Intake, Magnecor plugs and wires, UO Underdrive Pulley, Adjustable Cam Gears, Zex 75 shot Dry Kit, Contour SVT Wheels, Window Tint, 2 Kicker 10's (Square)
