After all this time of bickering and senseless arguments between various people of our Chicago CEG, I have come to the conclusion that the only way this club can function is for us to work out the differences we have between various members here.

I apologize in advance if I am wrong, but it is my conclusion that the following people need to mend their relationships:

1) Mike and Little Joe
2) Big Joe and Charlie
3) Kevin and Little Joe
4) Big Joe and Ron

(If you feel that more names should be on this list, please add them)

As I said, IF THIS IS INCORRECT, THEN I APOLOGIZE FOR WRITING YOUR NAMES IN THERE!!!

However, if this is true, than there needs to be a group meet in which we can all talk this over, and when the people that do not see eye to eye can repair their relationships.

I feel that this club simply cannot go on like this anymore. When we attack each other, not only here, but in other forums, and thereby present this ugly picture of us being a bunch of idiots, we need to do something about it.

I want to be in a club that has members supporting each other, and being friends, not talking behind each others backs or whatnot.

Until we can have this meeting, discussion or whatever you like to call it, I am withdrawing from any and all activities of this club.

And let me make it perfectly clear: I am not leaving this club! I am withdrawing until we can resolve these ongoing problems.

what the hell did i miss again?
everytime im out for a couple of days something krazy happens.

The CCeg cannot continue to harbour these feelings about certain members. And you guys wonder why people never show up to meets. We lack unity and we better find it soon before some people just get sick of the [censored] and go elsewhere. Like it was stated earlier by Milan, if we keep acting like this we will continue to be the laughing stock of the Ceg.

You know, I have no problem being "withdrawn" from this group. I've got my own friends and when I do read this forum it is for entertainment purposes only.(read: Soap Opera) Try it. You might like the new perspective.

Adrian, this has been happening long before you joined the group. It is always easier to run away from problems, than face them head on. But that is exactly what we have to do.

If you have your own friends, that is totally fine. We just have to remember that this is still our club, and that the interpersonal communications have to improve for it to get better.

I started this topic to get us to brainstorm on how to improve all of this, not to be used as a weapon to destroy the club.

We need to fix this, and fix it now!!

Ok, just to add. I think I would be more inclined to attend a meet if it was more 'Tour oriented. From my perspective, the CCEG is just 4 or 5 guys who get together and BS about chit that nobody else can relate to. Hell, 95% of what goes on in this forum is inside info that the other 300(or whatever) members of the CCEG don't have a clue about. All I ever see are meets at Hooters or "chili and football". I can do that with my buds whenever I want. I'm not about to drive to Dekalb for some chili with a group of guys that are dysfunctional and seem to care more about "mud wrestling girls" than working on cars together. That's my perspective and my 2 cents and I don't need a d@mn flame suit because this is the internet and I don't give a chit what somebody on the other computer thinks about me. By the way, I'm cool as hell, my girlfriends hot and my car rocks.

Edit: Milan, the point is, I've been a "member" of this "club" for many years. I'm betting longer than most of the members here and probably you as well. I've seen the CCEG turn from nothing into something and just as it got good it disintegrated into the soap opera that we now see and you are so determined to fight against. I respect you for that, I really do. Hopefully I will respect this club enough to make it to a meet someday. I guess we'll see.

The BS happens only online when we are facing an impersoanl screen. I know I have done my share of ranting that I wouldn't have done in person. Many things are misunderstood, especially little " 's". When we went to Spring Zing we had a good time.

The DC, Canada, Michigan, and NYC groups get along, we should be able to also.

I don't know if I have room to speak...But hell Phil said something and he's got a Focus.

I've only been to one meet, and I met a hell of a lot more than 4 or 5 guys. And as much as I do enjoy mud wrestling I don't think that topic was brought up much. As far as the chili and football meet, thats what is planned, a chili and football meet. The meet I went to was a BBQ, and I had a chance to drool leftover BBQ sauce all over Hectors car (mainly just drooled on the headers though, I'm sure it's sizzled off by now)There have been Mod meets, when it's just about the cars, and no matter what kinda meet you go to it's about the Tours, and I've seen the pics to prove it.

And thats my .02 dealing with CCEG, I don't know you all that well, but I love you all like you're my Daddies....And none of you are (I hope)

I think it would be cool as hell for this group to be as tight as some of the others. I definately think it has the potential. Like I said, I've never been to a meet so the only perspective I have is from my computer. I think we can all agree that the online presence of this group is not very impressive and with that perspective I've never felt the urge to make it to a meet where, from what I hear, is when the true(cool) nature of the group comes out. But I can't tell that from all the bickering that goes on online. I love my car. I fell in love with the contour when I first saw it in 1994. I'm interested in chilling with people that feel the same way but I sure as heck don't need to deal with some of the things that go on in here. If the CCEG makes a turn for the better I would love to meet each and every one of you. I've already met a couple and if the rest of you are as "normal" and cool as they are then that would be tight. Don't get me wrong, I wish for the best and you won't find me contributing to the downfall of the CCEG.

I've never been to a Chicago meet. I've been trying to get a meet going in my area, but to no avail. I know there are CEGers nearby because I've seen the CEG stickers in a couple windows.

What I'm finding is that it's hard to get meets organized. I give props to the guys 90 miles south who actually do get together, even if its just to watch mud wrestling. Social meets can be just as fun as car-oriented meets.

I can't comment on the inter-personal relationships, as I avoid flame fests as best I can. Once I get my rebuilt tranny next week I'd actually like to travel down and see what a meet is all about in Chi-town. I know with the cold months coming up that we probably won't spend much time under hoods outside, but still, I think it'd be good to meet some CEG'ers and swap stories.
