Thanx! Looks like I get to 'get into some grease' this weekend

How about seals (crank / camshaft)? While you got it apart...

Going to take a visit up to the bone yard as well and start the search for the exhaust and parts for 'adding' fog lamps...

same as the water pump, if you want to change it while it is apart go for it

by my father my engine was very clean for having 104k when we changed the belt, that is there was minimal oil accumulation on the engine for a car that is seven years old and now has 108k, and I do tend to have a lead foot, but I still see a minimal of 300 miles to a tank

Anyone

Can you just explain how to use the camshaft tool

I have the crank set with #1 and #4 pistons up and
pulley mark lined with block tab.Do I just rotate
camshafts until the tool slides in or is there something
that I have missed ??

Thanks 4 any help Curt

I slowly rotated the cams until I got them into position. You should be able to feel any resistance if a valve touches a piston but I never felt any.

The better approach would be to rotate the crankshaft 90° from TDC. Then all the pistons will be in the middle of their stroke and is no chance of valves hitting pistons. Rotate your cams as needed to fit the tool then rotate the crank back to TDC.
