I was in a bookstore today and picked up the "Turbo" magazine to snoop around and see what I couldn't afford. Well, they actually did tests on 32 or 33 turbo and supercharger systems on various cars. They actually had a kit from Vortech in it, but...I think some of the information was wrong, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. The magazine said the kid is a Vortech D-trim (I thought it was T-trim?) at 6psi (thought it was higher?) and it had an optional intercooler (not aftercooler) from Vortech themselves. It was making about the right aboutn of HP. Max was 265 and this was on V6 SE engine, not an SVT engine. ....so, what gives?

Well, if they tested it on an SE, the could be right. . .because the only system I thought they sold was for CSVTs. . .dude, I'll check that out, is it Turbo magazine for September 2002 or October?

I'm not even sure to be honest. I didn't look. It said "turbo" (lower case letters) and something like "and other high performance....." in smaller letters under it. Top left side it said the thing about testing the 32 or 33 systems. The one for the Contour was towards the back of the magazine. The picture was of an SVT but they said it was fitted to a regular Contour.

The Vortech kit uses a "gear driven V-9 F-Trim supercharger" at around 9psi.

Also 265FWHP would be in the ballpark of the kit on a stock/near stock SVT.
