This is just a theory i havent tested it yet.
I am going to try this when I get the time, I'll post results then.
I am taking a high pressure air tank (from a paintball gun) regulating it down to about 250 psi, and running it via steel braided hose to my cold air intake, facing the MAF.
Im not sure if this will work like ram air or what?
and its not 250psi of boost for those of you who think im psycho

Hmmm...you might just be blowing particulates through your filter. I don't think they're supposed to have that much air forced upon them. Dunno, though. Never tried it.

I had this same sort of idea once.
Not really enough air to give any sort of boost.
The fact that its cold air will help some, don't know if it would be noticable.
The little co2 cartridges wouldn't last long enough to cool any significant amount of air.
I would run it like n2o and have it inserted upstream of the MAF near the throttle body.

I did see somthing simualar, it was a Ford Ranger with a 302 in it and on the back of the truck there was a Big Air Compressor tank.

I did ask the guy about it and the only bad thing about is you have to make some kind of a block on your intake. So that at WOT there air is induced from the tank on the back can creat positive manifold pressure Thus creating Boost.

However I dont think this is practical and wouldn't recomend it to anyone!!!!

One big problem with your idea.

CO2 is not flamable. You would be taking away power rather than adding it. Taking away space for normal air (nitrogen oxygen mix) and replacing it was an inert gas.

Paintball guns use CO2. Its still compressed air, just compressed, non-flammable air.

I see one other problem though. If the vehicle was say, turboed, the entire intake would be under pressure, with nowhere for it to go, except through the engine. With this idea, the pressure is being introduced in one area. The new air will go both ways down the intake, until it hits something (TB/Valves) or escapes. You would be cooling the intake charge, but I doubt you would be building any pressure. It would all escape outside.

I wouldn't use pure oxygen for this experiment either. The engine was not set up for pure oxygen coming into it. You would more then likely confuse your computer, and would be creating a much more violent explosion then normal that would be almost uncontrolled.

If you are intrested in putting something into the intake, under pressure, that would also have the ability to cool it slightly, but make more power, you would now be talking about N20. hehe, nitrous.

sorry testing will have to wait
i hate deer
and paintball guns can also use pure n2 and compressed normal air.
