Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Roots type blower works by pressurizing the intake manifold, and it pretty much has to SIT on top of the manifold. You'd have to have a huge hood scoop or a bigass hood bulge. You realy wouldn't need a jackshaft. Not to mention modifying the manifold to accept the blower.

1. too expensive
2. not practical
3. nobody would buy it anyway

it is certainly possible, just pretty difficult to package on a contour.

what about setting it where the battery goes?

making a box type thing to connect it to the MAF and Trottle body?
and another to hook up the Intake side to a filter?

I think its possible but is it worth the effort?
Lighting superchargers are running about 400-600 on Ebay
thanks

Like I said, it can be done (see the Cougar Eliminator show car that SVT built, and the old Profile show car from back in the contour's early days) but the package is quite difficult, and would require quite a bit of custom work to fit.

Also, the lightning blower is likely to be way more blower than you would want, think more along the lines of an M90 blower, like form a T-bird Supercoupe, or a Pontiac GTP or somehting like that, the M112 fromt eh lightning is just too much for anyhitng but the most extreme duratech build up, and even then you would likely choose a different route for forced induction on a motor like that.
