this thought crossed my mind, what if someone used a leaf blower as a supercharger? i dont mean them wimpy ones that you plug in, i mean one like i got, runs on a 2 cycle engine, and its powerful enough to knock a small child off his feet. would it yield any performance increase if a hose would be ran from it to the air filter, a decent one at that, say a k&n cone???? i know it would be loud and a pain in the ass, but maybe it could be useful for a short 1/4 mile race

Already thought about it!
if the leaf blower is variable speed then you can have variable boost!!

I remember seeing a couple years ago where an M3 owner simulted doing this on his car! It was rather funny! He was mockin the Import scene!

I suppose if you really thought it out you could get a noticable performance increase before it breaks.

a leaf blower is too simple. You would need to increase the volume of air entering the engine based upon engine RPM...

That said I used a leaf blower to test a intake I made for my old '98.5 SE and it did prove to have in impact on the car at idle... a negitive impact...

Perhaps if you could find a leaf blower that could produce atleast 400cfm under load(good luck) and not draw more current then it produced in air flow.

Remember you would have to run it through a power inverter which would draw a lot of amperage.

Then there is the fact that when the leaf blower was not running it would act like a brick wall in you intake.

The leaf blower idea has been talked about on many, many forums.
It won't work. No PSI boost.
The Eram is not junk.
It has been dyno proven by Brad Noon (bnnon) to give up to 30HP gains.
