Is the tachometer on a 2000 CSVT electrical? If so, which wire on the back of the gauge is the sender/receiver?

I saw a LED RPM indicator on www.riderstation.com and wondered if it could be adapted to the CSVT. It would be cool to have an Audi R8 type shiftlight on the dashtop!

Yes. On the back of instrument cluster you will find a 14 pin connector, the #1 position is not used and the tach is #8, a w/bk wire. You can also access this wire at a 16 pin connector in the area of the interior fuse panel.
Tach signal comes from PCM, not directly from engine sensor.

Can't help with mod you are proposing, hopefully others will respond.
