just wanted to share with you that i am so dumb that i did not realize my engine was a dohc. (are all the contour zetecs dohc?) ok now you can laugh and heckle...lol

Don't feel bad. There is nothing wrong in learning something new about your car.  And yes all Zetecs are DOHC.

Almost all Zetec Tours Are DOHC. As determined by the 7th letter of the VIN. If your 7th digit is a 3, you have a DOHC. If it's a Z, it's a SOHC. There are only about 3% of tours on the road with this motor, but they do exist.

It's lower than 3%...probably like 1% of all Zetec tours.
