Well, recently I aquired some fairly major scrapes on the front bumper. I was wondering if anyone has repaired something similar to this, and could offer me some suggestions as to how they did it. If it needs to get done professionally, any ideas on much it would take to fix?

I don't know about anybody else. But I got hit (tapped hard) on the front pass. side. Took in to get a estimate and they said $1800.00. For repairs and Paint. So I am wainting for my DentKing in the mail, and go from their.

Good luck.

I would not attempt any body repair on your own. I tried, didn't know what I was doing, and ending up needing to fix it instead of wanting to. So it's worth it to get it done right the first time. I know that body shops have basically set costs to fix bumpers, doors, etc. due to insurance costs. That cost includes paint and disassembly of the panel, and the unique cost (which only varies about 1% across shops) comes from each shop's estimate of time to fix the damage. So my advice is to go and get an estimate and have it done the right way, because chances are if you've never done body work before you'll spend all the money on supplies and end up taking it to get fixed anyways, possibly with more damage than initially.

Get a couple of estimates from different areas of town. Prices can vary widely. If our dend is anything more than a pushed in depression, you'll need someone the right tools and skill to get the metal flat again. Matching paint is also somewhat of an art.
