I had a set of L.E.D side markers from Shark Racing.com . I had some problems with them, I returned them for a new pair and never got them back so I have a question for everyone. I want a set that will run with my parking lights but will also blink with the turn signal. Does anyone know where i could get something like that?

I believe that is not up to the lights, but how you wire them.

Below explains wiring them for two-way operation the way you'd like to. Half bright for parking lamps, full bright for turn signals.

Others should have more wiring diagrams also.

Since this came up, I DO NOT recommed this MOD. I am not sure what the exact curent draw is on this light, but a 20W resistor is a serious fire hazard. I know it has been done, ect ect.... but this is a dangerous item to have on your car. I would reccomend making a LED setup. I have a wiring plan and some instructions on how to do this, and as a bonus, you can make any color you want. While I have not built this myself, I would highly recommend you think twice before putting a 20W resistor on your car ANYWHERE!

I have been considering producing these, but I am unsure if the demand would be sufficient to justify the investment. If anyone WOULD be interested in LED side marker lights of the color of your choice, ones that come on with the parking lights, AND blink with the turn signal, let me know.

You can always just wire them to the blinkers...no oh so dangerous 20W resistor and a whole lot easier

the resistor doesn't draw nearly 20 watts. In reality, the maximal draw is less than 5 watts, so a 10 watt resistor is more than enough; 20 watt is overkill really. We specified 20 watts because I had them on hand and that's what I used, and resistors of this wattage usually come in mostly weatherproof packages that are capable of withstanding the harsh underhood environment.

LEDs are a good idea and they look cool. At the time though there weren't many sidemarker options, and we thought using readily available, off-the-shelf parts would benefit more people. Incidentally the schematic in the FAQ has not been tested with aftermarket LED sidemarkers. One, LEDs are discrete devices so there is 'no half-bright'. Two, LEDs require external resistors which the schematic does not account for. Check this thread on door LEDs for a quick primer on LED usage.

resistance is measured in ohms (V = IR), but resistors also have a power rating, which specifieds how much power they can continually dissipate (P = IV).

I had assumed the article was a bit old, and you are right, they seem overkill, and I am sure they would hold up, but they CAN get hot.

And you are correct, but there is a way to adjust the intensity of LEDs, it's actually very very easy

It is very technical, if anyone is interested in how it works, let me know, and I will explain, but it really is boring technical stuff

I have look around a bit, and depending on the color of the LEDs, a side marker light ready to wire up with a 3 wire lead (ground, parking, blinker) Would run anywhere from about $100 for blue or white to about $50-60 for yellow/oranage/green/red. These are BALLPARK figures (could be more or less), not sellling prices, I am waiting for responses to see fi there is a market for these, or I may just make them on a individual order basis. (individual basis would cost more, so I am hoping there is some demand for these.)

I am not sure, I have looked around the internet, and found some LED lights you can buy, but they cannot be on and blink too. The one I make would be able to do both.
