Trunk Lock

On my 1995 Contour SE, I'm not able to open the trunk with the inside release any longer. I either have to use the key or the remote. The release opens the gas door fine. I've taken the lock out and examined it and didn't see anything obvious. The cable seems to be working ok as well.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the lever in the trunk, by the latch, which disables the inside remote trunk lock release?

What he said. Little orange lever, for use with the valet key (that doesn't open the trunk).
