it seems that when after i did the throttle hang fix on my contour the motor consumes more oil than usual. is it that when i do hard downshifts the combustion chamber creates a vacuum and sucks the oil out of the oil pan and?? i have taken it back out to see if the consumption would slow down at all and it seems to be doin better. so is what i thought the problem? thanks

No, the TH fix has Absolutely NOTHING to do with oil at all, it simply rerouts air around the butterfly valve. I think you may have a phsyco somatic oil use problem

Seriously, there should be absolutely NO WAY that the TH fix could affect the oil.

as principal Skinner once said:

THF does create more vaccume in the intake when shifting, but I don't think it would affect oil consumption much. I have noticed the harder I use the engine the more oil I consume. I never loose more than 1/2 a quart in 1K miles.
