Clutch replacement cost >>>> ? Edit Reply

Alright , heres the thing I'm having slight troubles engaging into 1st and shifting up to 2nd. My car has under 25k and after checking, the clutch is not covered by warranty ( knew this but just wanted to make sure ) . BUT the 1st & 2nd gear synros ARE covered, this could also be the reason.
OK I have two questions , I do have problems with 1st & mostly getting into 2nd BUT shifting to every other gear at any rev range is fine, infact I am very please on how smooth the stock clutch is. Does this sound like a problem w/the syncs? or clutch ? I would imagine it would be the synros being no problems past 2nd, but I have never had clutch problems so I do not know. The second question is this, IF in fact it is the clutch how much would say a ACT aftermarket cost/labor run me at a respectable shop ? I have been qouted at the dealer 750-800( kinda high if you ask me ) . Could aftermarket beat this ? ACT 350-400$ + labor ? Anyway thanks alot for your comments - BTW this is a 01 Integra GSR tranny - ( I know , I know - I still have my duratech , wanted more of a project car and ya'll have always helped out,
Basz

Had mine replaced at 19k on the ODO (broken rivet on the clutch disc-warranty item.) Price for the materials is about right. Labor is 9-11 hrs. the entire front subframe must be removed to drop the tranny.

My guess would be a covered item, although be prepared to practice some negotiating techniques with the Service Manager.

To be specfic, only the clutch disc (lining) is covered for 12/12. The other parts with the clutch and entire tranny are covered for 3/36. The disc is covered if it can be shown to be a mfg defect (such as mine). Glazed, or worn discs will be considered wear out, and thus not covered.

Just a heads up.

good Luck
