I am getting the new focus svt wheels for my '99 Mystique and was wondering if it would be ok to slip on a Hub-centric wheel spacer on. I want the wheels to be almost flush with the fender and the 1/4 panel if possible. Would you guys recommend doing this and if so, what size would I need.

Only use spacers if you need too. Don't put them on to look cool, etc. There is ALOT more involed the just putting the spacer on.

With the FSVT 49mm offset, I'd run a 5mm spacer and perhaps fit on 235/40/17's to fill the wheel well out. 5mm is max depending on the thickness of the wheel mounting flange and using the stock lugs. You need at least 3/4 to a full set of threads through the nut to stay safe. With my rims (Superior Scoundrels 17x7) I had a 42 mm offset, running 235/40/17's and had to roll the lip. I have 8-10mm clearance from the strut and would like to be a bit closer. The FSVT rims with spacer would be 2mm closer and fit perfect with minor clearancing needed on the rear fender lips.
