I took out the orange reflectors in my headlights and replaced the orange corner bulb with a clear one. My question is...does anyone know how to get the same wattage full-time into the headlight that you get when the turn signal blinks? I imagine some splicing, but wasn't sure if doing that was completely smart. Thanks in advance.

Why would you? The turns signals flash bright!

Well.. if you find the voltage that supplies the turn signal.. BEFORE(electronically speaking) the turn signal switch, and run a lead from there, to the headlights, spliced in, then that would simulate the signals always being in an "illuminated" state, yet not affect your signals in the way that splicing the actual signal into your headlamps would.

Of course.. this is only my opinion... but a place to start..

Kinda what Ray said... but you should probably add a diode to make sure that the voltage from the turn signal only goes one way and you're not shorting anything..

too true.. thanks, man.

yeah.. add the diode to the NEW lead (the one you would run from your turn signal(before switch) to your lamps).

As long as that diode is in there SOMEWHERE between your new lead, and the original wiring, you will be fine. The point being to isolate your new "circuit" from your original, so that nothing in the original is affected.

Actually I have this done on my car. What I did and the easiest way to do it is to get one of those trailer light converters from Autozone($13).Then wire it up like your turn signal bulbs are the "brake lights" as in the instructions. This way the bright part of the bulb is always lit up,then when you signal the bright filament will then blink. The dim filiment in the bulb is no longer used.Just the bright filiment. There was a company on the web selling the same thing for $70.I cant recall the web site, but it was basically a trailer light converter.
