Ok, I'm having problems getting this to format correctly, so I'll explain it. This first pair of numbers is for the 3L and the second pair of #'s is for the 2.5L In each pair, the first number is the metric spec (most are mm) and the 2nd #, the one in ( ) is english, most are inches.
If anyone needs a better layout of the #'s, email me. (I threw a few other measurements in for fun smile )

Data is based on the 1999 SVT Contour 2.5L and the 2001 Taurus 3L

3L 2.5L

Bore mm(in) 89.0(3.5) 82.4(3.24)
Stroke 79.5(3.13) 79.5(3.13)
Bore Spacing (C/L to C/L) 102.0(4.02) 102.0(4.02)
Block Deck height 208(8.19) 208(8.19)
Block Length 396(15.6) 396(15.6)
Deck Clearance (minimum) 0.415(0.016) Below to 0.115(0.0045) Above
Cyl Head vol. (above gasket) cm3(in3) 48.2(2.94) 44.5(2.72)
Hd. Gasket thickness (compressed) 1.00(0.040) 1(0.034)
Min comb. Chamber vol (total) cm3(in3) 52.0(3.17) 45.1(2.76)
Valves Intake 35(1.38) 32(1.26)
Exhaust 30(1.18) 26(1.02)

It's all about balance.

I have in front of me Ford specs for both the 2.5 (doesnt specify a difference between SVT or standard) and the 3.0L Camshafts and other various components. According to Fords specs there is no difference in these cams. Does anyone have proof that the SVT cams are any different? Troy???

Mine is also not new. They newest one is 2000. There is one in the Burn Out game. I think after tonight I can have a pretty good paper engine. But I think I going to get the 2000 this weekend. Ill tell you how it is.
