Whats the % for an Atx and an Mtx. Theres all kinds of numbers being tossed around out there. Not only here but on other sites as well.

For us, I'd be willing to bet MTX nets you about 15% loss. The reason I say this is my 122.9 puts me at about 144.6 at the crank. 20% would equal 153.6, which I seriously doubt I'm getting.

reaper4tour dynoed at 123 on an ATX Duratec...a 27.6% loss. Running an MTX, he likely would've gotten around 144.5, assuming 15% loss.

As with anything, this isn't written in stone...just my thoughts after some observations. smile

~18% HP & ~10% TQ for the MTX
~26-28% for the ATX (??TQ)

I would estimate that losses for the ATX are about 28-30% on horsepower and 22-24% on torque... although I don't understand why those two numbers would be different, that just seems right.

It doesn't really matter anyway... what good is horsepower that doesn't get to the wheels?

Nice that this should come up. I've been wondering . . . what is it about ATX that steals so much more power? Just curious! smile

Sounds about right.

The reason the TQ loss is less is the dyno measures torque and then derives HP from it. So the HP loss is further skewed off of the initial driveline loss.
