Yep, and this is the same dyno Kaiser has been using. We were working on the intake I mentioned yesterday and did about 19 runs. Total cost = $0!! Anyway, here is how run 2 worked out... Max HP=111.5 Max TQ=118.5 HP peaked @ ~5200 and held to 6300, then dropped 5HP or so until slamming into the rev limiter. TQ peaked @ ~4000 and gradually dropped until about 4600, then went into a steady decline. Run 17 (w/ intake R&D attached) Max HP=122.3 Max TQ=122.1 HP saw a significant gain across most of the powerband, and held a 3-5 HP gain after peak. TQ peaked at the same point, but also saw significant gains through most of the powerband. The curve stayed flat from ~4000 to 5400. I'm leaving the car at their shop since I'm going out of town this weekend. When I come back I'll have a prototype intake under the hood (I may also drag my SVT exhaust down before I leave so I can have it installed). BTW, I was running extremely lean - ~15:1!!! Took off the IAT mod and nothing changed (except the A/F ratio dropped a couple times through the powerband)...so I guess it didn't really do me any good; not that it won't work for others. Damn I feel good about this!!!!

YES! This is great! What's a stock Zetec put down at the wheels? Isn't it like 90-95 hp? If so then a 15hp gain! Me likey! Any time/cost estimates of this thing?

The airbox gutting and removal of the resonator are the only performance mods I have, currently, and run #2 was based on that setup. I find it hard to believe that those two mods netted me that much power, plus what we saw w/ the intake they're working on. Maybe I have one of those "factory freaks" Then again, I did take a lot of junk out of the airbox and Kaiser gained 12 HP yesterday by unbolting his exhaust, so maybe my mods did do some good.

Just realized I forgot to answer your question. No idea on cost or time. Plus, I'm not at liberty to speak in much detail about it. If I do, they'll eat my firstborn in front of me for Christmas dinner....or something like that.

Oh I guess I misunderstood. So you don't have the cold air intake yet . . . But that means even MORE gains! Wheeeee!

The first run I listed was with my stock airbox I had gutted. The second run (run #17) was w/ their pipe, filter, etc. attached. Keep in mind this was the first night of testing w/ it, so once my A/F is taken care of, we may be looking at another 5-10 HP on top of the 122 I got w/ their intake prototype. ...and yes, I think stock Zetecs usually run 95-100 FWHP. So, I've gained about 10-15 over stock already, and their setup gave me another 11...but that's peak. The increase over the entire range was great! Kaiser was actually running my car on the dyno while I stood nearby and that thing was loud The best part was when his eyes would get real big when approaching peak HP because the revs would just start to skyrocket!!! EDIT: Keep in mind we completely removed my stock intake for the latter tests; no stock box, no plenum...only TB, MAF and their pipes...so guesstimating a stock Zetec @ 100 would still mean a gain of 22 w/ this setup...I've seen few intakes do anything close to that!

FYI, I have seen 2 stock Zetecs. One was 103 and one 105 FWHP. So, 111 HP for the mods sounds about right. Excellent 11 HP gain with intake though.

Right on! Way to go guys. I may be interested in this intake if I will gain comparable hp. I already have the same intake mod done and the SVT exhaust so I may be putting down more then you.

BTW, if I can get the exhaust out there sometime tonight...they'll throw it on for me....most likely for $0!!!!

Damn you get all the luck! Do a dyno with it too. I would like to see some hard proof that the SVT exhaust is worth getting.

Dude, I'm leaving it there for 4 days...it'll live on the dyno! The guy told me yesterday, "probably got an exhaust restriction"...well, how convenient...since it's all R&D it's a write-off for him

I wouldn't go for the IAT mod though - the baby car only has 18,000 miles on her and I don't want to mess with it. The Zetec is an amazing little engine; coupled with the ZX2 body it's at least as fast as our V6 MTX tour which has many more mods.

10 HP just by getting rid of the intake resonator! WOW. That surprises me that there is that much gain off of something so simple.

Pollo sounds good. Mine is at 112hp and 124tq when it was dynoed a few months ago. I don't know what accounted for the extra torque. My peak torque was at 5400 rpms and my peak HP was at 5800 rpms. I need more power!
