Although it's not in a Contour, it is the same motor... Here's where I'm at with a few bolt ons and an intake cam: here's a pic of the motor (sorry for the size):

I know, I know... there was someone who came by and like a dope I didn't get his email address or phone number. He bought some stuff and said he'd come back, but I lost him. You know who you are out there... you live in Rancho Cucamonga! Email me so I can use your zetec Contour as an Intake guinea pig. Rob

zx3tuner, i have an S2 ZX3 on a serious weight reduction program...so far, gutted from front seats back, no speakers, no radio, no seats no spare, no power windows or locks, no sunroof. My carbon fiber hood should be here this week. Next on the list is a dyna-bat and corbeau forzas seats(16lbs each) for the front. What did you do to reduce weight, and how much did it weight before and after. nice dyno, nice times, i try to tell people that weight makes a big difference. 9.6 in the 1/8 is the same as my old 2990 lbs SVT makin 172 hp at the wheels...

Wow, that's some diet you're putting your car on. Lightness is the way to go, that's for sure. Not only in a straight line, but around corners too.
I'm lucky enough to start with a fairly light car... stock ZX2's weigh 2470-2550 lbs. Here's some of the weight removal I've done... Compared to your program, I'm a wimp though. I'm keeping the A/C and stereo, as well as the full stock interior (minus the pass airbag).
Here's the weight reducers:
2478lbs...1999 zx2 s/r stock (published weight) - 48lbs...-8 gal gas (race with an 1/8 tank) - 32lbs...remove spare tire, jack, and false trunk floor - 20lbs...removed power steering assy and pump, replaced with manual steering rack - 12lbs...replace stock rims with lightweight rims (ALT 210's) - 9lbs...remove passenger airbag (good if you have small kids anyways) - 8lbs...change battery size to a Honda group 51 battery. - 8lbs...replace RH CV axle and intermediate shaft with tube type long CV axle - 6lbs...remove floor mats - 5lbs...replace 1.875" exhaust pipe and resonator with lighter gauge aluminized 2" pipe - 4lbs...esslinger udp and intake cam gear - 5lbs...remove damper bricks on motor mounts - 2lbs...remove headrests - 2lbs...run winshield washer almost dry, and run coolant reservoir low. - 1lb....remove engine lift hook on head --------- 2316lbs, 162lbs removed, 10lbs of it is rotating weight - actual weight on the truck scale was 2320 lbs - it rounds to the nearest 10 lbs.) - the total weight loss is equivalent to a 13hp (approx) gain.
My goal is to get the car to 2250 lbs with AC and interior intact... some of the next weight related mods will be:
1. remove stock iron manifold and cat and replace with focus tube manifold and under car high flow cat 2. get lighter seats (the stockers weigh 32lbs each) 3. remove sway bars - I put sprint springs on and with the stock 1" front bar, the car understeers too much... I might not do this though (might go with a fatter rear bar instead) 4. CF hood - I'm looking to have these made in the near future
