I don't know much about the over all suspension side of things and i am looking to upgrade it. Im not sure on the setup of the svt. Does it have shocks and struts ... back or front. Im looking to get some new springs also. If i wanted to do a good part of the suspension over, what exactly would i need. Thanks for the help in advance

Front and back are both Struts. H&R, Eibach, BAT, and some others make springs. Most have H&R's or Eibach's. H&R's are supposed to have a "rake" look (front slightly lower than back). I have Eibach's and love them for the most part (car is really low and tall speedbumps suck). Koni, Tockio, KYB, BAT, and others make struts for it. The Koni are 5-way adjustable and cost about 640 for the set.

The best thing to do would be to do a search on each topic and check them out. wink

Hope this helps.

Eibachs are about 220 for the set. Anyone will tell you to do both at once but if you don't the stock struts will last about a year with lowering springs. Good luck. BTW. you can go with "Coil-Overs" if you wish. Ground Control makes a set but I do believe you have to cut the struts (I don't know for sure though??).

Koni's are the best struts available for the Contour right now. They are not 5 way adjustable; they are fully adjustable. The springs are your choice, depending on what you want your car to look like. You can get Eibachs from www.shox.com for $182. Send them a quote request for Eibachs and in comments mention that you are from contour.org.

Sway bars- Aussie has a 24mm rear sway bar which is a significant imrovement over the stock bar. I think he is making a new batch soon for $125 total. There is also a 21 and 22mm bar as well.
Front Strut tower braces may or may not improve handling due to the fact that the towers are so close to the firewall that they don't need extra support.

Ordered Koni's from Shox.com last night. They have free shipping on all Koni stuff for a time. 610.40 was my quote. Will post up pics (should look same) when I get them on. Hopefully they will get here soon. I have too much stuff on order right now.
