Well i switched DSL servers(Ameritech) and now people cant join, Is there any way i can turn this off for just game use and it to stay on when im online. You should be able to enable IP forwarding through your firewall. You can enable certain TCP/UDP ports while disabling others. Find what port you connect through, then enable it through your firewall.

I have the same problem with Diablo1 over the internet. I have to turn off the firewall all together.

You should seek an answer/advice from ppl who play that game and use firewalls...is there a UT forum you can visit? Also try searching on Google.com

The medium you are using to get the connection doesn't matter - cable, DSL, etc. (ppoe can be a biatch though)

The reason why I have the trouble is because my firewall automaticaly blocks "unknown" packets!

In order for me to be able to play online with others my connection has to be able to allow those packets.

It is easier to just turn it off than to try and filter what I need!

Been a while, hasn't it? I'm plowing the boards again, due that I've got most of my long-haul work travel over with for the year.

So, yes, it's back to putting up with me and my sordid opinions. laugh

This is a good list of ports used by games: Practically Networked Opening a few ports is way better than turning off the entire firewall, especially when playing games online.
