They already held the Pro Solo Nationals on 8-9 Sep. For those unfamiliar with the format, they start out side-by-side with a drag strip start and "Christmas lights." Then after a short straight one car turns left and the other right on courses that "mirror" each other.

A few surprises in the results. Corvette Z06 dominated SS as usual. A Toyota MR2 turbo did beat an S2000 for AS victory but that was probably a function of the drag start and turbo's torque. In BS normally dominated by Miatas a new MR2 Spyder won! In CS the last style non-turbo MR2 won. In DS, surprise, a Neon ACR took it. E Stock saw the dominant CRX driver clean clock even though he was disqualified in earlier runs??? F Stock saw the dominant/talented couple from Dave Andrews area win 1st/3rd in an old but still fast 89 IROC. The Bullitt Mustang finished 4th at least.

Our class, G Stock saw the same Type R guy who won last year's nationals win again, with a WRX in second, another Type R, and then a 325is in fourth. Dave Andrew's area Talon guy, Krauss, finished 6th. STS was dominated by 99 Sube Imprezas, winning 1st through 3rd before a newer 00 one managed 4th. The time range for 1st through 4th in each class is below:

SS 56.469-57.138 Corvette
AS 58.742-59.258 MR2 turbo
BS 59.625-59.925 00 MR2 Spyder
CS 60.873-61.116 91 MR2
DS 63.095-63.445 Neon ACR
ES 62.013-63.910 CRX
FS 59.726-60.102 89 IROC
GS 60.652-62.071 Integra Type R
STS 62.358-63.184 99 Sube Impreza
STR 61.544-62.129 2000 Civic Si

You will note how narrow the margin of victory was between 1st and 4th in each class. These time reflect the combined times on left and right smaller "mirror" courses. Will different cars win the larger faster courses? Tune in to www.peavey.com to hear starting today through Friday. I thought it might be a webcam but it is just a radio format I think. See my other post for times when G Stock and STS run.
