I drove a police interceptor mustang last year at Road America. I was really impressed with how the car "wanted to turn". It had a slew of bump-steer correcting mods (lowered steering rack, better tie-rod ends, etc.). One thing the owner suggested that made a big difference in his car is running the front end toed out.

Is there any turning improvement to be had by toeing out my SVT?

You'll get better turn-in, but it'll eat up your tires...

You can adjust toe when you get to the autocross and adjust back to stock before you go home. You need a really good tape measure and two 1' lengths of 2x4. Measure from the centerline of each tire with the tape measure lying on top of the 2x4 in front of each tire. Use the faces or the sides of the 2x4 and try to go as high up the tire as space permits. Make the same measurement at the rear of the tire. The difference is the toe setting.

You'll need to experiment with the settings that work best for your car, but I would start with 1/16 inch toe out and go no farther than 3/8 inch out.

Too much toe out will increase understeer.
